State and local dignitaries will join faculty, staff and students from Brown Mackie College – Albuquerque to celebrate the school’s grand opening ceremony on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.
The grand opening celebration will include brief comments from community leaders and tours, provided by student ambassadors, of the school’s 35,000 square foot campus.
“We are really excited to officially become a part of the Albuquerque community,” said Eric Rudie, President of Brown Mackie College – Albuquerque. “Our academic programs and environment encourages and inspires student achievement and success in and out of the classroom, and this is just the beginning of a wonderful journey for all of us.”
The Highland High School Junior Reserved Officers’ Training Corps will present the colors at the Friday morning event. Remarks will be made by State Representative Mimi Stewart (D-Bernalillo), Bernalillo County Commissioner Maggie Hart Stebbins, and Albuquerque City Councilor Don Harris. An official proclamation from Albuquerque Mayor Richard Berry will also be presented to the school.
The Brown Mackie College – Albuquerque team, which includes full- and part-time faculty, provides an expertise that prepares students for in-demand occupations, and the school’s one course a month schedule assists students in balancing work/life schedules.
